Engineered for firewood, logs, and timber – these ventilated FIBC bulk bags combine UV-resistant polypropylene fabric with multiple mesh configurations to keep your wood dry, well-aired, and protected from sun damage during outdoor storage and transport. With a 1,000 kg capacity and customizable structures, they eliminate the two biggest threats to wood quality: trapped moisture and UV degradation.
Why This Firewood Bag?
Standard woven bags trap humidity inside, which leads to mold, rot, and reduced burning efficiency. Meanwhile, direct sunlight breaks down ordinary polypropylene, causing bags to crack and fail within months. This bag solves both problems in one package:
- UV-stabilized PP material – formulated to withstand prolonged outdoor exposure without becoming brittle
- Mesh ventilation panels – allow moisture to escape while keeping debris out
- True 1,000 kg working load – built for commercial firewood operations
- Three ventilation styles – choose the airflow level that matches your wood’s moisture content
- Three bottom structures – pick what fits your unloading workflow
What Makes It Perfect for Outdoor Firewood Storage?
Firewood is rarely stored indoors. These bags sit in yards, lumberyards, or transport trucks under direct sun and changing weather. That’s exactly why we built them with anti-UV additives right into the polypropylene resin – not just a surface coating that wears off. The UV protection is integral to the fabric itself, so it lasts as long as the bag does.

Ventilation is equally critical. Fresh-cut wood releases moisture continuously. Without airflow, that moisture condenses inside the bag, creating a microclimate perfect for fungi. Our mesh panels (available on two or four sides) keep air moving through the load, so wood dries evenly and stays dry even through rain showers.
Available Configurations – Pick What Works for You
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all. Here’s how you can tailor these bags to your exact operation:
Ventilation Type
- 4-Side Mesh – mesh panels on all four sides. Maximum airflow for freshly cut, high-moisture wood
- Double Mesh + Double Fabric – two mesh sides, two solid sides. Balanced breathability with moderate dust control
- 4-Side Fabric – solid PP fabric all around. Lower airflow, better for dry wood in dusty environments
Bottom Structure
- Open Top + Flat Bottom – simplest design. Fill from the top, stack on pallets, unload manually
- Open Top + Discharge Spout – bottom spout lets you control flow when dumping into hoppers or chippers
- Open Top + Large Open Bottom – full-width bottom opening for instant discharge – just pull the release and the entire load drops
Color
- Black – absorbs heat, helps drive out residual moisture from wood
- White – reflects sunlight, keeps contents cooler in hot climates
Both colors are available with the same anti-UV protection and 180gsm fabric weight.

Beyond Firewood – Multiple Applications
While designed primarily for firewood and timber, these ventilated bags handle a surprising range of materials:
- Potatoes & onions – the breathable design prevents the condensation that causes rot during long-term storage
- Root vegetables – carrots, beets, and ginger all benefit from the same airflow principles
- Construction debris – wood waste, bark, and mulch stay dry and easy to handle
- Recyclables – cardboard, plastic scrap, and other materials that need ventilation during storage
In every case, the UV protection and structural integrity make these bags reliable for outdoor use across seasons.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does “Anti-UV” actually mean for a bulk bag?
The polypropylene resin contains UV-stabilizing compounds that absorb harmful radiation and prevent polymer chain breakdown. Unlike surface coatings, this protection is throughout the fabric, so it doesn’t wash off or wear away. In real terms: these bags won’t become brittle and crack after a summer in the sun.
Which ventilation type should I choose?
4-side mesh is best for freshly cut wood with high moisture content – it needs maximum airflow to dry. Double mesh-double fabric works well for semi-dry wood. 4-side fabric is ideal for already-dry wood stored in dusty environments where you want less air exchange.
What’s the difference between the three bottom styles?
Flat bottom is the simplest – fill and stack. Discharge spout gives you controlled dumping. Large open bottom is for when you want the entire load to drop out instantly, like into a chipper or hopper.
Can I get custom sizes or printing?
Yes. Beyond the standard 100×100×100 cm, we can produce custom dimensions. We also support full-color printing for brand logos, handling instructions, or safety information.
What’s the minimum order?
Minimum quantities depend on customization level. Contact us with your requirements and we’ll provide exact MOQ and lead time.

I am very pleased with my first order of firewood bags from FIBC Bag Factory. The bags were packed securely and arrived in perfect condition. We are not currently producing firewood but we did take the time to fill one bag with wood. The results were impressive with the bag easily capable of being filled completely with split hardwood and moved with a forklift. I highly recommend this product to anyone with a firewood production business. I am sure you will be impressed and will be able to reuse the bags many times. The cost savings and environmental benefits will continue for many years.

We run a small family-owned forest farm in Värmland, Sweden, where firewood is essential for heating through our long, dark winters. Storing freshly split wood outdoors has always been a challenge – with frequent autumn rains and heavy snow, moisture and mould used to ruin a significant portion of our stock. These ventilated bulk firewood bags have completely transformed our wood handling.
The mesh ventilation panels are a game-changer. Freshly cut birch and spruce release a lot of moisture, and the airflow through these bags allows the wood to dry evenly and stay dry even after wet weather. We’ve noticed that our firewood now burns much hotter and produces far less smoke – no more surprises with damp logs when it’s –20°C outside!
The built-in UV protection is another huge plus. Up here in the north, we have long daylight hours in summer, and the sun can be harsh on plastics. Many other bags we’ve tried became brittle and cracked after just one season, but these have held up outdoors for over a year with zero signs of degradation. The UV stabiliser is integrated into the material itself, not just a surface coating – that makes all the difference.
